1905 Hammond Typewriter with Universal Keyboard. Hammond Typewriters are becoming a rare find.
The case of this typewriter is in good condition with a few small nicks in the wood. The right ribbon carrier is missing a small piece. Keys seems to work fine. The side locks on the case are in tact.
The Hammond typewriter was invented by James B. Hammond and first appeared on the market in the early 1880s.
The Hammond made use of a type-shuttle and hammer instead of type-bars.
